Creates a felony offense for intentionally or knowingly causing bodily injury to a peace officer during the lawful performance of official duties.

Establishes that a person who intentionally and knowingly causes or attempts to cause bodily injury to a peace officer engaged in lawful performance of official duties, or who causes such injury in the course of violating the existing interference with peace officer statute, is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten years.
