What does this bill do?

Prohibits registered sex offenders from holding or being candidates for specified public offices in Wyoming.

Establishes that sex offenders are ineligible to be candidates for or appointed to the following offices: school district trustee, community college district board member, county attorney, district attorney, county commissioner, city or town governing body member, city or town mayor, and county sheriff. (W.S. 9-1-104(a))
Requires the secretary of state, county clerk, or other election officials to refuse to certify a candidate's name if the candidate is ineligible under this statute, and provides that if a person already in office becomes disqualified, the office shall be deemed vacant. (W.S. 9-1-104(b), W.S. 22-18-101(a)(iv))
Defines 'sex offender' as a person required to register as a sex offender under W.S. 7-19-302, regardless of whether registration has expired or been terminated, and includes those who have had civil or political rights restored unless a court or the governor expressly restores eligibility to hold public office. (W.S. 9-1-104(c))
