What does this bill do?

Expands protection for service and assistance animals to include those being trained, and increases penalties for injuring or killing such animals.

Amends the definition of 'assistance animal' to explicitly include animals that are being trained to work, provide assistance, or perform tasks for a person with a disability, or to provide emotional support for disability symptoms. (W.S. 35-13-205(a)(iv), Sec. 1)
Amends the definition of 'service animal' to explicitly include dogs that are being trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. (W.S. 35-13-205(a)(viii), Sec. 1)
Increases the criminal penalty for knowingly and willfully injuring or killing a service or assistance animal from a maximum fine of $750 to $5,000, while maintaining the misdemeanor classification with imprisonment of not more than one year. (W.S. 35-13-206(a), Sec. 1)
