As part of the Select Committee's statutory purview under W.S. 28-11-201, the Select Committee intends to continue its study and work as follows: • Study and monitor implementation of the state's investment policies by the State Loan and Investment Board and the Investment Funds Committee; • Prepare and submit recommendations to the Legislature to improve statutes and policies related to the investment of state and local government funds; • Study and develop expertise regarding the investment of public funds and capital financing, including monitoring the implementation of state capital financing policy by the State Building Commission and other state entities, if any; • Monitor the investment of state funds in any specific purpose investments.
To the extent relevant issues arise during the interim, the Select Committee also may consider the procurement of consulting services to assist the Select Committee, review budgets and expenditures related to state investment policy, and review budgets and expenditures related to state capital financing policy.
The Committee will study issues associated with the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act and whether changes are needed to modernize the regulation of unclaimed property.
